Care4Kids Update

Thanks to so many for your generosity in giving to Care4Kids. As you can see above, we have raised just over $20,000 in gifts! That's great!

But we still have a short way to go to reach our hoped-for $25,000 goal. We know many families have tightened their budgets and must re-examine where their donation dollars are going. That is as it should be. So, as you make those assessments, please remember that orphans in Africa remain among the majority of children in the world who can benefit greatly from your donation. We at Christian World Foundation remain committed to helping as many children as resources permit. So we pray that God will continue to lead you to donate to the charities you believe in.

Again, God's richest blessings on each person who has given and/or prayed for this project. Thanks for joining us as we move ahead in 2010 to make a positive and lasting difference for Ethiopia's orphans.

Tomilee and I recently returned from Ethiopia. During a series of meetings with our staff and Ethiopian officials, plans were finalized for completing the Children’s Home, the first structure of Acacia Village. Our visit was highlighted by a meeting with the President of Ethiopia, Ato Girma, the Honorary Chair of Acacia Village. President Girma reaffirmed his approval of the project, and he also noted that he often stops by the Acacia Village construction site to inspect its progress.

Christian World Foundation (CWF) anticipates that children will begin to occupy the Children's Home at Acacia Village in late spring or early summer of 2010. CWF wants to provide a celebration and warm welcome to the children who come to Acacia Village. Part of that welcoming event will be to purchase toys, clothing, toiletries, and medical supplies, have them in place and ready to be used.

So, in order to make this possible, we are launching Care4Kids this holiday season. The goal is to raise $25,000 by January 30, 2010 for the purchase of much needed items. Through your generosity, we want to give the children:

• Toys: balls, puzzles, coloring books, crayons, building blocks, games, toy cars and trucks
• Books for all ages and Bibles
• Clothing: light jackets, shirts, skirts, sweatshirts, socks, underwear
• Health care: medicines, diapers, wipes, toothbrushes, toothpaste, towels and lotions, and much more!

Jesus welcomed children and said, “Let them come to Me.” By being a part of Care4Kids, you are welcoming children to Acacia Village—a place of shelter and hope—and a place where these children will hear about and come to know Jesus.
